The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) successfully carried out a training programme for electoral officials across the country, aimed at strengthening the operational capacity of the Board's permanent and temporary staff ahead of the upcoming general election.

The training covered a range of topics essential for the effective administration of elections, including:

  • Voter registration procedures and voter roll management
  • Polling station setup, operations, and closing procedures
  • Ballot counting and results transmission
  • Handling complaints and irregularities at polling stations
  • Code of conduct for electoral officials

Participants included regional branch office staff, polling station supervisors, and data management officers deployed across all regions of Ethiopia.

NEBE's Secretariat expressed satisfaction with the results of the training and noted that continuous capacity-building is central to the Board's mission to conduct free, fair, and credible elections in Ethiopia.
